This marble polishing job we recently completed was a bottucino marble floor in a Princeton NJ residence that had lost it’s shine. Notice the huge contrast in these before and after pics and how before there was no reflection and after it reflects like a mirror. Many glamorous halls and buildings have highly polished marble floors. Many times it is terrazzo which has no grout joints separating it. This has a sleek appearance that spreads like glass. Even with grout lines if they are thin and the grout color matches to blend properly it can have a similiar effect. Color sealing grout can achieve this by customizing the grout color desired without the need to remove or change grout. Furthermore this will enable easier maintenance by rendering the grout stain proof. Check out our marble & natural stone page for more information about diamond honing marble and powder polishing...
Here are the top ten mistakes people make both in residential homes as well as commercial venues in cleaning tile floors. 1. Using dirty water. If your mop bucket does not contain enough water to properly clean your tile floor you will just be spreading around dirty water. Take note of how the water in your mop bucket looks halfway through cleaning your floor. Does it look real dirty ? If so you need a bigger mop bucket or you need to change the water as you clean more often. 2. Using a dirty mop. This basically has the same effect as in #1. Be sure to remove your mop head after usage and wash it. Many mop heads afre machine washable. 3. Not towel drying as you mop. If you allow the water on the floor to air dry where do you think all the dirt on the floor goes ? It goes into the water pools up in the grout lines (which are slightly lower than the tiles) and that is the reason for dirty grout. Think of your grout lines as a receptacle or drain for all the dirt on your floor/ When you mop you basically just push all the dirt fright into the grout ! The trick is to mop small sections of the floor at a time and towel dry the water and soak up all that dirt before it begins to dry. 4. Drying with a small rag or dirty towel. The whole idea of drying as stated prior is if their is sufficient absorption of a clean towel to soak up...

Many times we receive phone calls to clean marble, travertine or limestone flooring. However many times cleaning is not what is needed rather diamond honing is necessary to restore and make the floor look clean again. Natural stone flooring especially softer stones like limestone and travertine can wear down over time. The finish of the floor gets rougher and loses its smooth texture. This is due mild scratching of the surface. Over time the whole overall finish roughens up and allows dirt to get stuck in the tile. Sometimes there is not even any dirt rather the tile just appears scuffed and dirty looking which really is just scratch etch and wear marks on the stone. Either way we can restore your natural stone floor. We service all kinds of stone like marble, slate, Saltillo, limestone, travertine, granite as well as terrazzo and...
Did you know grout color can be changed for your tile floor or wall without removing your grout? We have a sophisticated process where we can apply a Color Seal to the grout lines which can change a grout color immediately to the desired color. We can actually customize any color you would like for your grout. We have changed grey grout to white and white grout to charcoal. We have done exotic and non typical colors such as deep blue or purple, as well as a deep green and lavender. Some tiles today like disney blue terrazzo, just look so much nicer when the matching color grout makes the grout lines blend in seamlessly. Besides the grout color change a color seal also seals grout and makes grout cleaning much easier since the grout will now not absorb dirt. It will render grout stain proof. So if you are in NJ especially in Monmouth, Mercer, or Ocean counties give us a...
Grout Works of Central NJ tends to do more upscale work as opposed to only the regular shower regrouts and recaulks. Many times we are working on kitchen or foyer tile floors. We use utmost caution both while cleaning grout and tile protecting any surrounding areas like expensive rugs, carpet, cabinets and appliances. We find ourselves in upscale homes in places like Lavallette, Toms River, Brick, and Lakewood more often than not. Every company has their style of work and their own business model. Some businesses work with volume. Some target commercial. Because Grout Works of Central NJ is an Owner operated business in the true sense of the word, generally jobs are not done without the owner’s hand in it. This personal service attention to detail and utmost caution and care in your home is unmatched compared to when an employee is doing the work. Customers want the job done right the first time without any issues or headaches. This is unfortunately commonplace in the home improvement industry but is nonexistent when it comes to Grout Works of Central NJ. Obviously quality of work and customer service comes with a price but as people are wont to say “it was well worth it.” See our photo gallery or home page for some pictures of our work and more...
