Many people are unaware that a grout color can literally make a floor look gorgeous or look horrible. A wrong grout color whether chosen by mistake or just did not come out right can really diminish the beauty of a tile floor. Sometimes in new construction homes the grout color can come out too light due to the abundance of white dust in the air from sanding and cuttting construction materials. Sheetrock dust can whiten grout especially a dark color grout and it is impossible to restore the original grout color just by cleaning. Even if a floor started out with the perfect grout color as it gets dirty can make a beautiful tile floor look awful due to the discoloration of the grout lines. On the other hand even a simple tile floor can look very sharp and have a beautiful flow to it if the grout color looks good. In these pictures we cleaned, sealed and color modified a very simple old ceramic tile floor in Middletown NJ not far from Little Silver. Notice how before the floor has no appeal. Afterward the floor has a flow and looks real nice. In next article we will discuss in more detail why grout color has such an effect and how we can restore a grout color even when it cannot be restored by cleaning alone.
