There are a number of differences in the maintenance of shower grout and caulk as opposed to a tile floor and grout lines in your kitchen. Showers need to be ventilated in order to allow proper drying so moisture does not get trapped and cause erosion of grout and mold. Caulk should be 100% SILICONE and is designed to waterproof all the seams. If caulk gets dirty or moldy it cannot be cleaned. It needs to be removed and recaulked. Moldy caulk can be due to a non suitable caulk used for a shower. Another possibility is due to a moisture builup behind the caulk. This trapped moisture causes mold to grow. Moisture can accumulate behind caulk for a number of reasons. Faulty grout that is chipping cracked or missing can allow water from showers to get through the space in the grout to behind the tile wall and settle  at the bottom right behind the caulking.
