Just the other day we were in Rumson to check out the tile and grout in a shower. It turns out the issue was with moldy caulk and not with the tile and grout. It seemed to be just some moldy caulk that needed to be recaulked. However it turned out to be a larger issue. After the caulk was removed there was visible water and moisture in the seam between the shower wall and the shower floor. This seem to indicate a bigger problem. Since all the grout on the wall seemed intact is indicated that the water was coming from under the shower floor from the pan underneath the tiles. To properly resolve this issue there were two options. One was to rip out the shower floor. The second optiion was to leave a seam opened to allow the water to dry out properly. The next time we would be in Rumson we would check the moisture reading and upon proper drying we could complete the repair on this Rumson shower.
